This can't be good...vehicle woes

Ok so I get back into my truck after lunch and go to crank it when I heard a *thud* and then it won't turn over.

I do raise the hood and notice a loose, broken, obviously repaired with ducttape hose that is just hanging out on the motor. It looks like it fell off the air filter. Have no idea what it is...or if Autozone will have another one...Guess it's time to get googling :)

So I was outside for a total of 5 minutes and there is a swarm of mosquitoes! ugh...time to get to spraying.

hmm, well, that sounds like the the air intake hose that should run to the front grill of the vehicle, but I've never heard of a car not cranking because of it. If it won't turn over, that's usually a battery problem. What type of car do you have?

It's a little Nissan truck..1985 model. it seemed to want to turn over the first time I tried...then a *thud* noise happened and then it wouldn't do anything..I may try in a few to clean the battery positive/negative things..they looked a little corrided(sp).Lynn
