I really enjoyed the movie. I know what everyone is thinking "because of jessica Simpson" She is really HOT!!! The movie could have been better, but willie nelson as uncle jessie :smt102 .. Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg:smt102 .. I Think the choices of stars needed to be a little better. Kimberly I dont think you would enjoy it or reality either. The pg-13 rating kinda suprised me had alot of cuss words and showed alot of skin.. No nudity just alot of HOT Girls!!! Dressed nicely.. If you are a dukes of hazzard fan ITS A MUST SEE:smt038

Roger and Ebert gave this two thumbs down all the way and said the acting was terrible. I was really surprised.

While Daisy showed a lot of skin in the original series, the show was generally absent the profanity. The whole idea of the original show was comedy and clean family entertainment (you never saw Daisy and Enos making out in the back seat of the patrol car), Making it into a PG-13 movie with all of that, seems to sully the tradition of the show. Add that to the awful casting and I'll give it two thumbs down!!

Dont remember enos and daisy making out.. Look its 2005 not 1980 times have changed.. I agree the casting was off.. Did you go and see it? I didn't mean to suggest the movie did show Daisy and Enos in the backseat, but that such things were not included in the original show. People used profanites in the late 1970s and early 80s as well -- remember Dallas and Dynasty from that time?

Catherine Bach showed a lot of skin the original show as well (short shorts, bathing suits, cleavage, etc). Skin i don't think is the problem, though the casting of Jessica Simpson was part of it IMO (a brunette like Bach would have been better). Denver Pyle's worst profanity was "Dangit JD", and I think this would have been better had it stayed along those lines.

I haven't seen the movie yet, so I am not going to vote until when/if I do. I do agree and have stated so with some of the points raised. The casting was horrible, outside of possibly Bo and Luke. Burt Reynolds doens't fit the role of Boss Hogg any more than Willie Nelson does that of Uncle Jesse. While Jessica Simpson is indeed nice looking, I'm surprised that Catherine Bach hasn't had a stroke over her being cast as Daisy. Daisy simply wasn't at dumb as Jessica. Makes the whole movie lose some credilbility with me.

Nobody has answered the question have you seen the movie yet.. Why do you think most people (leading the box office for the weekend) went to see it? Jessica simpson, dukes of hazzard fan, or just to bash noway :smt102 .... I said jessica simpson was HOT and the movie had some hot girls in it... I want to see it but haven't yet ...

At first I thought it was a joke with Jessica Simpson cast as Daisy, and Shawn Williams Scott and the Jackass guy as Bo and Luke. Then I found out it was really coming out, and soon. I just assumed it would be horrible. Then I saw the previews. WOW at the chase scenes and JS's body. Oh and things blowing up!

So in short, I'll go and I'll probably love it but not for the script, casting, or acting ... but for the blowing up of things, the crashing of things, and the showing of skin things.

They all can't be award winners :p
