What is vBookie?

vBookie is an addon to the forum that allows our members to wager hub dollars on games setup by our "bookies". You can click on any upcoming games, pick who you think will win and wager the amount of hub dollars you would like. Sometime after the game is over, we'll settle the bets and the money will be added to your account. At the end of the NFL/College season, we'll determine who is the season winner by checking to see who won the most money over the course of the season.

What are hub dollars?

Hub dollars are a form of forum currency. You get it by making posts, starting threads, and people viewing threads you start on the forum. You can also get it by referring other people to the forum. When they sign up, you will get bonus money added to your account. Hub Dollars can be used to buy a lot of different things on the forum, including putting your username in color, italicizing it, putting it in bold, adding a special custom title, etc. All of these items can be found in our store (http://www.myhattiesburg.com/forums/ushop.php). We hope to add more items in the future.

How is the winner of a game determined?

I know this may sound like an easy question, but actually the winner is determined based upon a point spread. For instance, let's say USM is playing Tulane. The point spread is 7 in favor of USM. If USM wins by 3, then everyone who bet on Tulane will double their money. Why? Because you subtract the spread from the winning team. The resulting score is how you determine who won the their bets.

P.S. This is all in good fun. No real money is exchanged or won.
