You make the call...USM/Bama game

I didn't watch the game but saw the highlights on Channel 7 including the catch by the Bama receiver off/with the help of the USM defender's back, resulting in the next play Bama scoring as the catch was ruled a catch and put the ball on the 2 yard line.

I've never seen such a bizzaro catch before in my life. Anyone else see it? Mitchell seemed surprised they ruled it a catch. I was wondering if anyone else saw it and what they thought about the ruling?

I didn't see it, I did see the game till 21-10 USM though, and can't believe they blew that lead.

I saw the catch...I thought it was a beauty. I thought he clearly caught the ball- and belive that through the use of the instant replay the Ref's made the right calls. (Yes- I am a USM fan) I did think the ref's were a bit rough of all the offsides we seemed to be called on. I am glad to see the effective use ofthe instant replay.

I saw it too. Yes, it was a catch. He, clearly, had control of the ball even though a defender was in between his arms. Then, his knee was down on the 2 yd line. They used the instant replay because they initially ruled it a touchdown, but his knee was down before the ball cross the plane of the goal line. Good call, at least that one.
