This is from espn.com.. Midyear review

Biggest Surprise
Central Florida has gone from national laughingstock to the Conference USA pole-sitter in only three weeks. The Golden Knights ended their 17-game losing streak Sept. 24 against Marshall and have since beaten Louisiana-Lafayette and Memphis to become the only undefeated team in Conference USA play. UCF is only the third team since 1950 to win three consecutive games after going winless the season before. "They're starting to see the payoff from all their hard work," O'Leary said after the Memphis win. "There's a cautious confidence. But from where they're coming from to where they're at, I'll take that."
Central Florida amazingly leads Conference USA, but teams like UTEP and Southern Miss will factor into the final standings.

well...I'll do my careful pondering and bet at the last minute....I pick a few that I feel good about and bet accordingly. Alabama and Ole Miss is a tough one. Bama played incredible against Florida in their last outing, but their best player Tyrone Prothro is out for the year. If USM only loses to them by 9 at Bama, perhaps Ole Miss can hold them to a similar margin in Oxford.

that 27,000 in the bank looks good.. I just cant decide how to play it... The best game to watch saturday might be the USC-Notre Dame game.. USC is the best in the land but Notre at home :smt102 ... Or maybe central florida..

As if the Ole Miss offense doesn't have enough problems, now the nation's 107th-ranked unit (16.8 ppg) faces an Alabama defense ranked sixth in the country and allowing just 11.6 ppg

I wish we could bet on local high school games, too. I'd keep up with it the rest of the season, if I knew how!

I could set it up.. the point spread would be hard.. but you take oak grove-merdian and hattiesburg-jim hill and laurel -petal tonight I honestly think they are all a toss up..

I will post the high school games for next week.. Sir mickey you can help pick the games but we realy need to make sure that we dont put oak grove playing richton or something... AND ALSO make sure no one is in objection of putting a few high school games on vbookie. As im typing this it might not be a good Idea (not setting a good example) .. Or you could do a poll and on the posts say which team will win.. I dont really care.. Just would like to hear some feed back..

I have no objection to vbookie high school games...it's not like we're betting real money in it anyway. I think we could even come up with spreads for these games based on common opponents, home field, and other such factors. For instance, Oak Grove is playing Forest Hill who lost to Wingfield last night (whom Oak Grove beat something like 62-16 a few weeks ago). I'd put that spread at a minimum of Oak Grove (-40).

I'm not really in favor of betting on high school games. Even though it's not real money, it just doesn't feel right...

Well...I was somewhat off today....I was right on four and wrong on four....however, with the day I distributed my bets, I still came out of the day with a postive net of approximately $4,576 in hub moolah. Not too bad for a day's work. :)

well everyone ole miss was a shock.. The USC-Notre Dame was prolly the best one of the year.. I miised it but I caught the highlights on sports center. The usm game was fun but for everyone questioning bowers coaching ability look at the week turnaround awesome coaching..BLAH..

Okay now on the attendance wager.. Alot of money was won on the over 27,500 If you were there I bet it didn't look like 25,000 in attendance. But the university goes by amount of tickets sold which is fine.. Disappointing crowd.. It was a great weekend for college football.

When I upgrade the forum soon, I may give everyone the option to start out with vBookie dollars, meaning everyone starts out with the same amount. It'd be a much better judge of who's winning and losing by just seeing who's the richest.
