This was a great event last year. It looks to be a repeat this year. I have included a link to the Hattiesburg American article announcing the bands. pat Green and Dashboard Confessional.:smt038

Should be an interesting event and give a slight boost to the downtown economy, but $100,000? Where does that money come from?

This event is done in conjunction with USM, the SGA, and Friday Night at the Foutain (home game weekend- pep rally will be downtown if it is like last year's)- I guess they pool the money.
It was really a party atmosphere downtown last year. You could easily walk to Walnut Circle, or 206 or the Hippo. I liked the location on Bushman last year. It will still be good on Main by the Seanger- closer to 206 and the bands wont compete if Walnut has a band. Also - More room. It was kind of cramped. There were lots of residents of downtown who loved it becuase it was walking distance for them. Bring folding chairs and have a good time.

In that case, I guess the timing of this Student Printz cartoon (http://www.studentprintz.com/vnews/display.v?TARGET=showImage&article_id=4356ee8c11942&image_num=1) is a bit off.

Too Funny...Last year one of my runners was on the SGA- They really did work hard on Eaglepalooza. I would guess they were working just as hard this year. I think th e groups they got this year are more well known than those they had last year.

Wynn, I'm impressed, I like Dashboard too. Bring the squad car around and pick me up for the concert.

SGA and Student Activities, but I think it's worth it. Look at the turnout last year... this has the potential to be a very high-profile event for the university.
now, if only they'd change the name.

This is correct! And SGA and Student Activities are two organizations on campus that get a portion of the students' tuition. So everyone definately needs to go. This is also "Black and Gold Day" at Southern, so go check out the Black and Gold Game that day!
