I still think Chicago's going to win the series, but not in a clean sweep. Going back to Houston, the Astros are going to have their hometown fans, not Chicago's cold, rainy weather, and Oswalt's starting; this is their game to win. Not sure on the over/under, but as hot as the hitters are, no matter how good the pitching is, and considering the number of home runs already hit, I'm going to say over 7.5 runs.

That could very well happen with the way the Sox are playing tonight. I bet on the Astros because of Oswalt, but the Sox aren't helping themselves any. Sheesh.

I have a feeling I'm going to lose 2 large tonight. Of all the nights for Oswalt to be off... Should have put more $$$ on over 7.5 runs.

I hear ya. There's still time, though, for the Astros to come back.
Did you just see the poor kid picking his nose? You know that his buddies at home are going to be giving him hell for that one. LOL!
fuzzis
Oh yeah, when you have two teams of this caliber playing, it's anybody's game.
No, I missed the nose picker! Can you imagine how they'll be teasing him at school tomorow? lol I was on the phone with my brother. He's at work and wanted to know how the game was going.

Then again...he may have been doing it on purpose. You can never put anything gross like that past a teenaged boy. *sigh*
fuzzis
I can see him doing it in a group of his peers, but on national tv? lol
Did you notice in the opening the U.S. flag that Wynona Judd was holding was all decorated up with what looked like sparkly gemstones? Had them on all of the stars, and in rows along the stripes. I thought it was tacky.

I taught seventh and eighth grade boys for five years...I could see them doing just about anything, one for the grossness factor (big fans of jackass they were) and two for the attention. lol
And, I try to avoid Wynonna. I think *she's* tacky.
fuzzis
Mine weren't quite that bad, although they did sneak the video camera out and tape themselves doing their version of Jackass. Hopefully they've outgrown that by now.
7th and 8th grade can be the worst. My oldest son loves teaching high schoolers, hated junior high but would do it, and absolutely refused elementary after one day with second graders.

I hated elementary school too. Loved my middle schoolers, though.
To get back to the topic at hand....extra innings!!!
fuzzis
Any wagers on how many extra innings? I may have to learn the outcome of this game in the morning.

I don't have a real wager, but I'm betting one or two more.

Let's hope it's not another 18-inning game.

It can't be, they will run out of pitchers. Either that, or they use everyone and game 4 gets really interesting.
Can you believe it? I thought for sure the Astros would come back and win game 3. How many world series records did they tie or set last night?
longest games by time: 5 hours 41 minutes
longest game by innings (tied): 14 innings
most walks, one team: 12 (Astros)
most walks, both teams: 21
most pitchers, one team: 9 (White Sox)
moth pitchers, both teams: 17
most players, both teams: 43
most players left on base (tied): 15 (each team)
most players left on base, both teams: 30
Final score...Chicago 7, Houston 5
Chicago leads series 3-0

I consider myself quite lucky. I was prepared to wager 6K in Hub bucks on the Astros last night, and had it entered on my computer. I had done everything but click the "Bet Now" button. Then a client came in , and by the time I finished conferring with them....I had to rush out to meet my wife. Talk about saved by the bell.... *whew*
I'm thinking of making a similar wager tonight on the White Sox...I could be wrong, but I think the winds from the Astros sails have been taken out after last night. It will be about like the Cardinals in Game 4 last year against the Red Sox. I smell a sweep now.
Yes, you are quite lucky! Someone should have interrupted me! lol It's hard to believe that as good as the Astros are, they haven't won a single game yet. Hubba, I think you're right about a sweep. But you watch...if I bet on the Sox tonight, the Astros will win.
Noway must have been off last night, didn't see him posting any. If he isn't at work today to open the betting, you think Lylabean will? hint, hint :)
