God is the God of Life and we need to give our lives to God.

I might start by telling them to pay no attention to this post because GOD cannot, and should not, be categorized and limited to a list.

Well, I think if you talked to anyone who really knows God, you'll get a different answer. We are created in God's likeness, so I think he is a lot like any of us, just without sin.

All the responses other than no god and other seem to be pretty Judeo-Christian. I'm sure there's plenty of Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Agnostics, and Shintoists that visit that'd like better representation ;)

Agreed to a certain extent but human instinct is to do those things in an effort to better understand him. I think that most of us would agree that this is a difficult question because we are all at different stages of our walk (regardless of faith) with him so we tend to see him with different characteristics depending on our own point of view. Essentially there is really no right or wrong answer to this question except perhaps the one that says he doesn't exist.

I believe he is the father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. He is loving, forgiving and merciful. One phrase cannot describe his goodness and love. Glad you put this one on here I'll be interested in others points of view on this subject.

But I have found that Hosea 4: 6 definately applies to me So you're an admitted ignorant reject?

And Dean, I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm ignorant. The more I learn in life, the more I realize how little I know. As for the "reject" part...no because of the price Christ paid for me and everyone on Calvary. @ least you're not ashamed. :-D I hear that's bliss.

No, bliss would imply that I accept my ignorance and do nothing to correct it.You can't correct it. One has to accept ignorance in order to place himself under the supreme authority of God. If we could correct our ignorance, then we would be viewing ourselves as having more equality with God and a better understanding of Him. As we grow in our understanding and spirituality, God does not get smaller or more defined, but becomes larger and more ambiguous.

IGNORANCE- the condition of being uneducated, unaware,or uninformed. cant be corrected? what in the world could that possibly mean?

GOD wants us to be uninformed? i have never heard or read of this before, talk to me like you would a 6 year old and let me see if i can understand that a little better.

I don't necessarily think that he wants us uninformed but I know for a fact that there are some things that he wants us to accept as an act of faith. There is a huge difference between knowledge and understanding with respect to spiritual matters. God asks us to acknowledge many things through faith that he does not make clearly evident to us and I believe that is by design.

Probably the best example of this that I can think of is the creation story. Does it really matter whether God created the universe in 7 days as we understand a 24 hour day or is it more important to accept by faith that God did indeed create the universe?

Who is God? My brothers you all seem to be confused,
Lets not get into an argument because this controversy must be diffused

The Good book has all the answers, from the book of Genesis to Revelation
If you have concerns or questions, there you will find an explanation.

"My people are destroyed for their lack of knowledge", explains why we are all confused
When you enter heavens gates, being unacquainted with the word will not be excused.

So spend some time reading your Bible, there’s no better time than now for you to begin
Just spend 10% as much time, as you do on weekends watching ESPN.

Have Mercy

I have received a calling to pray for you all.
Before you all end up spending the night, between cell walls.
