Okay a vbookie on the next rain for the hattiesburg area.. Wdam shows under an inch of rain this month. I dont remember any rain from rita or not alot of it. Okay the forcast shows a 20 percent chance tuesday. The rain will have to be recorded on wdam newscast. so if you live in oak grove and it rains sorry we are using the wdam rain bucket. will close the wagers on tuesday Nov 1st 7 pm..
okay since this is a crazy vbookie(10-92) lets make the maxium bet 1000..

hakeye mentioned this at lunch.. so its his idea.. whats the average rain fall for november? I will start it if someone will post the average rain fall for the month..
According to weather.com, Hattiesburg's average rainfall for November is 5.29 inches.

It almost feels like home here lately. My first summer at USM, I about died with all of the rain. Coming from the high desert, where it never rains, and if it does rain, it's only for like five minutes and is just enough to disturb the dust on your car, the rain was almost more than I could handle.
In other news...my mom had five inches of snow in her yard yesterday.

whats happening with the rain bets? Its a total wager of 1000 each member 1000 toal bet no more. And on the over / under thread its 5000 total bet by each member.
not 10 one thousand different bets..
I played by the rules! :-D (even though I wanted to do like the others)

I'm wondering also. No one is playing by the rules and there's an 80% chance of winning. You need to hit no winning outcomes and cancel this one. If you had let everyone place bets last Tuesday and last Tuesday only on this, it might have worked.

Now why would we cancel this bet? We are betting it will rain at WDAM tomorrow. There is a 50 % chance of rain in the area tonight after midnight and 90 % tomorrow. But, will it rain at WDAM? And, will Steve Taylor check the guage?

I didn't go over the 1000 max. And forecasters are not always right. There's still a 20% chance it will not rain! lol

Sorry, I didn't see that part. Just went back and checked it. I guess that I ignored it since it was in italics. I usually scan past that, just assuming it was the signature or something. You can take away the $3,000 extra on mine, if you want... just leave it at $1,000. My bad!

well get ready. i'm in houston all this week and we just got a bunch of rain around 4:30 today. it was some pretty hard rain. yall should get it in a day or so :)

I made it rain. I washed 2 cars today and wa-la. It will rain after midnight tonight and part of the day tomorrow. The people waiting for the rain to burn their debris will be disappointed though. The burn ban will be in effect until we get a 'substantial' amount of rain, 5 inches or more. They claim no more than a inch on Tuesday, but it will be a welcome inch. That last part sounds like a Noway statement....lol

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain. The first decent rain since Katrina. In spite of the fact that I have to be on the road, I hope it does this all day long. Its kinda weird, I woke up this morning hearing the rain and these lyrics got stuck in my head...odd since I haven't heard that song in a while...
