I was wondering if anyone besides me had gone out and bought the new release from Cloud Ten Pictures Left Behind III, World at War? This movie, not released in theatres, is only available in retail, including Wal Mart/Target etc, as well as Christian stores. It is based on the end of Tim LaHaye/Jerry Jenkins 2nd book of the best selling Left Behind series (i.e. Tribulation Force).

I personally didn't like it that much. It deviates very heavily from the book, and Louis Gossett, Jr. does not really ring a bell as President Gerald Fitzhugh. If you've read the book, most likely you won't like this movie. I was also unhappy that the role of Pastor Bruce Barnes was recast.

I haven't been able to see it yet, but I was wanting too. Not so sure now after reading what you had to say about it, hubba. I still haven't been able to see the second installment either. Guess I should watch it before watching the third part...

I saw that Walmart has it. Just couldn't bring myself to buy it without having watched it first though.

Wonder if Blockbuster has it. They have the first two...

And I didn't think the first two were particularly "by the book."

The Second movie was better than the first...and obviously Left Behind II stopped before the "war" events at the end of Tribulation Force. Rayford's post-Rapture second wife Amanda doesn't exist until the beginning of Left Behind III. On the whole, the deviations that were in the first two movies, didn't trash the plot of the book. In the third movie, the changes are massive.

The only problem is at the rate they are going Kirk Cameron is going to be as old as Sebe Dale by the time Cloud Ten pictures gets to "Glorious Appearing"...lol. With the Tribulation only going to last for seven years, according to the authors, that is pretty problematic. I think it has been at least five years since the first "Left Behind' movie was released.
