I was home for the "100 Year Flood" in 1997, and my Sner is saying that this is just as bad, with the potential to be worse (She's on high ground, as are the rest of my friends/family). Right now, it's still snowing in the mountains so the snowpack isn't melting. Last Christmas/New Year's, we had 8 feet of snow. Criminy.

Regional officials report major flooding in isolated areas throughout the Truckee Meadows from the storm that is rolling through the area.
The city of Sparks said it is closing all roads in the Sparks Industrial area (south of Interstate 80, North of the Truckee River, East of Galletti Way, and West of Vista Blvd) however, Glendale West of McCarran remains open.
Raw sewage was flowing in the vicinity of Spice Island Drive creating a health hazard, the city reported.
Only those individuals who require access to businesses in the Sparks Industrial area for flood preparation will be allowed access...
