Reading the petal news this morning I see the rich city of PETAL is wanting to by a meter reader system to help stop the human errors and make it easier to read the meters of Petal. AT a tax payer cost of 370,000. I wonder if it will help with the ICE Plant Mayor Carol wants to buy? Petal will be bankrupt in 4 years..

Is this going to save any money? How much money does human error cost the city? If a meter reader misreads the meter, then they credit it the next billing cycle. What is this magical system that results in less human errors? If we were losing 100's of thousands of dollars because of this, I could understand, but I just don't see it.

I live in Petal and my meter hasn't been read since Hurricane Katrina. I know this because the debri pile stayed on top of my water meter box for 3 months after Katrina. Then after the debri was removed finally, I placed a peice of duck tape over ther meter gauge to see if it would be removed to be read. And by the way my meter gauge was completly covered by dryed mud from the all the rain during the storm. The tape was there for 3 more months. We know that the meters are not being read half the time and I am trying to figure out all the human error if the meters are not even being read with ther community water bills going up 300%.
Oh my. I would be really afraid of your next water bill. Second mortgage?
