I didn't really mind all her protests and bad mouthing Bush, mainly because as a US citizen she has the right to do that, whether we agree with her or not. But now she's getting cozy with the idiot president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060129/ts_nm/venezuela_forum_dc)
I look at it her protests and other things like a family affair - it's okay to bad mouth your relatives amongst other relatives, but you cross the line when you bad mouth your relatives to strangers.

I agree with you wile one...she is really pissing me off lately. Everytime you see a clip of her on the news she is smiling and laughing and hugging up on some celebrity...i know these are only clips. But it seems to me she is trying to take her son's sacrifice and get all the attention she can from it. I honestly think her son would be disappointed.

The photo shoots of her at her empty book signing were priceless... Fairweather war protestors.
I still say her son is going to slap her.

Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman of the American Family Association, writes:
Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audience (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10704025/): "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."
The guest on his television program, beamed across Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world."
Chavez is pushing a socialist revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Regardless of your feelings about the war in Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S. And he is using our money to achieve his goal!
The Venezuela government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo (http://www.citgo.com/AboutCITGO.jsp) gas company. Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.

hubbarrister agrees: thanks....maybe you, me, the hunny bunny and eveyrone else should stage a boycott!
Here's one way to take action:
Send an email to Chavez and to Citgo that you will not be shopping at a Citgo station. Why should U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government?
Click Here To Send Your Email Letter Now! (https://secure.afa.net/afa/afapetition/takeaction.asp?id=182)
Most of your friends and family do not know Citgo is owned by the Venezuela government. Please let them know!

I don't know that I'd exactly use Donald Wildmon as a counterpoint to Hugo Chavez. One extremist to another, they're both on the fringes.

I know where you're coming from hawk, but it seems these SA presidents/dictators/generals are from one extreme or the other - either a puppet of the US corps., lining their pockets while their people starve, or left-wing nutsos like Chavez, Castro, Ortego, and a few others. The only one I can think of right now who may be playing it right, down the middle, is the new president of Peru (I think I got the right one) who has started off saying they're not gonna kowtow to the US line but do what's right for their people.
Chavez has called Bush a terrorist because it plays well with the downtrodden people in his country. He's trying to place himself as the leader of SA and has the oil money to make it happen. It's strictly a power play and probably has absolutely nothing to do with making life better for the people in Venezuela.
