does anyone know of a place around town where you can take loose coins and cash them. i don`t want to spend countless hours sorting, counting and rolling them. i got lots and lots of them. my bank doesn`t have a machine.

Wondering this myself!! I have a ton of them. I saw a machine that does what you are talking about in a grocery store in another state and wondered if any place has that close to home.
Anyone know?

The only closest thing you can probably find here is Bancourp South by downtown...you dotn have to have an account, but they do have to be separated by coin i believe..but i dont think you need to roll them...i had this problem last year and thats the closest answer i found...hope it helps

I just went to Coinstar's website(they have vending machines that you can take your coins to) and put in hattiesburg's zip and it says there are two coinstars here..one at winn dixie on lincoln road and the other at save rite. I've never noticed them but it's been a while since I've been to both places. Maybe someone who shops there knows more?

I'll have to check that out...have a ton of pennies that I'd like to unload.

I believe that coinstar takes 9%. You could always make a trip to your local casino and cash out there.

From their website, they take 8.9 cents per dollar. If you elect to purchase a prepaid gift card to starbucks, pier one, borders, linens n things, hollywood video, or amazon.com, then they don't take the fee out.

cute, very cut yall. these machines don`t roll them. you just pour them in, it counts it and spits out paper money. i`ve got plenty of rollers, but to roll what i have, man my arms would fall off before i`m finished. wonder what the city does with their coins from the parking meters? hey guys, thanks for the pun. i need it. been a tough day. yall made me laugh and brought in a little sunshine. yall are the greatest.:smt038

They sell a little sorter at places like Office Depot and such. It's kinda slow cause if you pour them in too fast it'll clog it, but it's definitely faster than sorting by hand. I don't think they're too expensive. Maybe you could buy one and rent it out to the other MH members. :-D

Yeah Joe got a sorter one year for Christmas..seemed like it lasted a year maybe?

I mostly have pennies which it's disheartened to roll because you can roll forever and have less than $5.00. Raegan's bank has most of the silver money..we should be getting close to having amounts to roll :smt038

Guess I've got it easy. Our banks here will take them rolled but they prefer to receive bulk change and put it through their coin counter machine. I keep one bank on my desk, one in the laundry room, and a cookie jar in the kitchen for throwing change in. When the cookie jar gets about 2/3 full, I empty the other 2 into it and make a trip to the bank. I always feel like an idiot walking in carrying a cookie jar into the bank, but that feeling goes away quickly as I walk out the door with $$$.

Now Wynn doesn't know much about loose coins, but if you ever need help with loose women, then just let me know.
