Sometimes I have dreams that are something else. Last night was one of those nights. Sometimes, I can pick up the little pieces of dream that came from something I've seen before, but this is not one of those times. I do listen to my dreams, as sometimes they are prophetic or insightful to a problem I'm having or thinking about. I don't know what to do with this one... Here goes:

I go to visit, what in my mind, is called Waveland. I've never been to Waveland before, so I don't have any visual references to it. I'm standing over the ocean, looking down at the waves. The waves are 3-4' and there are 2-3 surfers scattered throughout the broken swells. The water is bluish-green, and the sky is graying. I wonder why people are surfing, because the closer you get to the beach, the more rocks there are sticking through the waves. The rocks are strange. They are like stalagmites, rising from the sand. These rocks also are on the beach, everywhere. There's enough room to walk around them, and spread a blanket around them, but for the most part, they dominate the scene. The rocks are from 2-4' high. The problem I'm having in my dream is how do I make this beach viable for business with all of the rocks around?

So, the idea hits me to make them a project for the community. Each family gets a rock, and gets to carve it into a castle, and a beach full of castles will be the draw. I get a copy of a book called "Rock Carving by Todd". It has a faded green color with paper binding and a black spine. I never open the book. On the beach, there's a shop where you can rent rock carving tools. Soon, everyone's carving their castles, and they are magnificent. They are detailed, and ornate, and beautiful. Soon, they finish the carving, and start to paint them. It's a wonderful scene. Still, it is not enough, and I don't feel like I'm finished...

This is about where I woke up, although some stuff happened afterward that I don't really remember, but this dream was so fantastic, I made a point to remember it... What does it mean?

I knew in the dream that it couldn't have been Waveland, MS... but it was Waveland, MS, y'know? Just the rocks and waves told me that... but, the main focus of my dream was the rock/castles and the act of carving...

Well...I don't pretend to know much about dream interpretation, but you might want to check out Dream Moods (http://www.dreammoods.com/)...

Seems to suggest that carving is representative of creativity; rocks permenance; the ocean renewal and creativity.

maybe you need to lay off the rich foods before you go to bed and you won`t have those kinds of dreams."grin"

I didn't eat anything before I bedded down. Although, the weirdest dreams I ever have is when I'm burning some black or red candles and sleep to that... those dreams are WEIRD!

It sounds like you are viewing something that is troubling you and you are searching for a solution to change the surroundings. You feel it is to much for you alone to fix, thus you solicite the help of the community.

I feel this is a representation of your life.

You realize the problems you see around you are much to great for you to solve yourself and you know there has to be someone else to help because it is beyond your ability on your own. The danger you see the closer you get to the beach may be in reference to you getting older and appoaching the day you die.

Perhaps the used book you are seeing in the dream that has the hidden solution to your problem could be the Bible.

Just a guess.

Yes, the Book of Todd... No, that wasn't the tone of the dream. The most wonderful part of the dream was the castles that were taking shape. There was only apprehension in the beginning, but once I realized what was to be done, it was a fantastic dream... People were flocking to view the castles. It was sucessful. I was having a bit of time thinking about how my castle should look, though...

Perhaps it was a dream of fancy, though I'm not quite sure where the images came from. That green book keeps sticking out in my mind, as do the stalagmite-like rough rocks. Those are the images that I can see now...
