Well have you driven to LA to take a chance in the biggest Jackpot in US History? Would you Take the Lump Sum or the pay out over 20 years? Are you against the lottery?
The odds of winning the big Powerball prize remain the same: 1 in 146,107,962.
I was looking for the pay out.. Anyone KNOW.. All I found was 177 million in a lump sum.. Couldn't find the estimate for the yearly pay

I need to send an email to the Sner. She has a lottery kiosk only a few miles fromm the house. (The CA lottery set up a funky partnership with the Gold Dust...last casino in the state of NV on I-80...the CA/NV border is very close there, and they put a kiosk behind the casino)

The first payment is 1.8% of the jackpot, year 2 and 3 are both 1.9%, and increases each year. When you finally get to year 30, it's 5.6%. So on a $365 mil jackpot, your first payment would be $6.57 mil BEFORE taxes. The complete table showing payout percentages is near the bottom at http://www.betslips.com/gameinfo_powerball.aspx .
If you die before you receive all 30 payments, are the remaining forfeited?
Hubby's picking up our tickets tonight. :)
Hey, if I hit the big one, the only decision I'm going to have to worry about is where to buy a house when I move back to town!!!
They call it "annuity payout", so I'd think they're still earning interest on "our" money.

No spinners for me now, thats old. The shoes on my ride are HRE's. You ain't gonna see any of those junior playas with them on their rides, you better hit the lotto to buy some of these.

We had some excitement here in our little town. There's a group of about 50 people that call themselves the "Coffee Pot Lotto" group. For the past 16 years, they have each paid $100 a year, pooled their money, and bought Lotto tickets. When the drawing was held Monday night for the $7 million jackpot, they had all 6 numbers! One of the participants is my daughter's teacher's husband. While none of them will get rich off this, being divided amongst 50 people, it's still a nice bit of pocket change.
I was just listening to that on the radio. Can you imagine?????
I bet those guys have skinned their last cow and cut their last steak.

Unless one of them is Tom Arnold, in which case he'll marry the cow and cut the cheese. :-D
