Apparently I used to collect CDs. I have enough of them.

The only thing that I really collect these days are books about writing. Writers on their process, writing theory, style guides, etc.

Maybe you could consider photos a collection. I have a TON of snapshots out and about, and there are a ton more that I need to get put into frames so I can display them as well. Need a few more shelves before that happens, though.

we have so many pics in frames around the house that there isn't room for any more. also a pain in the butt to dust.

I am a recovering pack rat. I find it hard to throw stuff away because I might need it later, but when later comes, I can't find it so I just end up buying a new one anyhow. I've got 4 boxes of junk in my car on the way to the SA.

I collect Movies especially now on DVD. I use to collect comics and action figures. Also collected movie card sets. Some of these things can be worth real money someday.

I'm both :) but trying to work on the pack rat part of me.

I collect dolls and postcards.

I've started Raegan a collection of porcelain dolls and Christmas ornaments. Each year I plan to get her an ornament of whatever she is into and then when she leaves home:smt022 give her all the ornaments.

I collect elephants and giraffes. :)

I'm also a bit of a pack rat. Like CB already said, I tend to keep things thinking I'll need them later, but I never do. I should just give it away to people I know could use it now.

Oh! And I collect anything Florida State. GO NOLES!

My main collection is cookbooks, both modern and vintage, including several of my grandmother's from the early 1900s. I also enjoy regional cookbooks from the different areas I've lived, plus those picked up while traveling. I've never counted them, but I would estimate I have around 400, maybe more.

I also collect Illinois Central Railroad memorabilia...red-globed kerosene lanterns, date nails, old timetables that have family or friends listed as officials. My most recent acquisition is a cone-shaped fire bucket from the steam engine days.

Sure thing ! :)

QM, I can't say I love to cook, I like to, but I do love to eat. I "read" them more than "use" them.

I like books, period, and will not throw them out. I have old textbooks from high school and my husband thinks I've lost my mind when he sees me reading an old HS lit book! lol

I'm currently trying to get rid of my collection of body fat. I've collected quite a bit of it over the years, and it's time to let it go.

yeah I think over the years moms have sold a bunch of jewels for pennies at garage sales..

I still have some of my baseball cards..Joe got me one of Nolan Ryan, think it was the year after he stormed off the pitchers mound and beat up a batter, card says something about Nolan Ryan's 1000 hit or something like that :-D

I have plenty of bad habits but pack ratting is not one of them. I like things simple, clean, organized, and uncluttered. I don't place a whole lot of emotional connections on my material objects. If my house burned down or blows away in the next hurricane I would make it just fine as long as I have my health and my TV and my remote and my favorite blanket. As long as I have my health, TV, remote, favorite blanket and pillow and my CDs and also my Xbox and my DVDs and my collection of beer bottle caps and maybe if I also had my couch and coffee table and chairs. But other than that I would be just fine...if I also had my clothes and shoes and a case of MRE's and some ICE and bottled water and a generator with with lots of gas and a chain saw and a FEMA trailer and a place to put it. I would also need lots of cigarettes and beer. Other than that I would be just fine.:smt119
