I've noticed that my bank stash hasn't drawn any interest at least since Saturday-- the previous bank paid interest every 24 hours that there were no deposits. Has the bank interest rate changed since last October?
Hubba, I haven't paid any attention. I wrote my balance down tonight, will let you know in the morning when my 24 hours is up if I got interest or not.

I don't know if the bank is giving interest or not. I can't find anywhere in the admin where the interest number is, so I would guess it hasn't been implemented yet.
It's just a few minutes over 24 hours since I last made a deposit and I have no interest credited either, Hubba. I wonder if it's on a different schedule than before. Guess we'll have to keep watching to figure it out.
Another banking question...have you noticed that the discount % isn't the same for all users? Most of us are at 10%, some are at 0%, and Hawk is at 30%. I know Hawk has the largest balance of all. Does our rate increase at different levels?
Before, we weren't charged a fee for donating, but when I donated to Doc last week, I was charged a 10% fee. When we DO get interest, will it be at this rate instead of the 5% it was earlier?

I'm not getting interest, but it sure doen't mind taking tax or a percentage. Seems like that would be the same type of deal.

I bought it under the listing of "change your custom title." There are several things you can buy now, but I keep getting a "not valid for your usergroup" error message. Seems to be a lot of kinks! I can't remember what I paid for it... everything is more expensive now, plus tax. Glad I didn't join the "all or nothing club" on the last vBookie!

PS
Still don't have my orange screen name, though, like you guys have back. Don't know why a couple of us didn't get it back the same time as you guys. I can buy it again... for full price... but waiting to see if there is some reason why three of us didn't get it but others did for free!

The user name colors should now be fixed. The problem was that a few people didn't put a # in front of their color code. I've corrected the 3 that I know about at this time.

Then you should charge those people a service charge for fixing that. :-D

I'm going to sign a temporary order to raise taxes in the store to be approved by the My Hattiesburg council, then I'm not going to submit it to the council for approval. That's the way to get things done in Hattiesburg.

Still no interest....I'm still stuck at X1,000 hub bucks in the bank-- since the thief option doesn't work...isn't interest the main function of a hub bank?

Wilebill, we just wanted what we had paid for and what everyone else had already gotten.
I was just kidding. I figured you knew me well enough by now. :smt102

Man, y'all have way too much time on your hands to mope about a fictitious bank and colored names.

Aaron....you've been silent of late on this....what's the real deal with interest? That's the primary reason for having a bank -- so Hawk, Noway and I have a means to recover from all of our vbookie gambling losses!

i really have NO idea how the bank works and how you get the discount, etc. could someone enlighten me, pullleazzzzzzzzzze! :smt119:smt102:-D
Since the bank reopened, we haven't received any interest. Originally it was paid each time the account had no activity for 24 hours. As to the discount, I haven't seen anything discounted, but whatever percentage is listed for you, when you donate to someone, you are surcharged that amount.

The update to the bank that let's you gain interest has not been released. I'm considering switching to an entirely different system since they are lagging on this. I can't really see the point of a bank either. A new system would mean everyone would start at 0 though.

Oh good lord aaron. Are you ready for *that* particular uproar?

Well, I've handled plenty of uproars before in the name of less uproars down the road. What I'm not ready for is taking out the current system and putting in the new one. It's not quite as simple as hitting "Uninstall"

My question to aaron.....how you make ANY money in hub dollars? I thought each time you post it goes up.......personally......i made several post last week and stayed on $148.83 for the whole week then this week I may have gained a few cents???? What does this mean? Thanks for any answers, aaron or anyone who can explain.

:smt102 You make more on threads you have started and people reading them. Im not for sure if you get anything for posting. I will send you some hub bucks if you want. Or put some of it on the American Idol vbookie...:smt102

Where can I buy some tartan? :smt102 There's no point in having hubbucks if you can't spend it on some well-crafted tartanwear.

Yeah, because there is an exploit in the system where you don't have to post. You just make a super long post which would give you lots of money, then hit preview. You get all the money, then cancel. Some were doing this over and over to gain lots of money quickly, so I had to change it so that you only get money from starting a new thread and people viewing it.

Not many people have except through vBookie. You only earn cents on the dollar for views, and earn less than that in the games forum.

One other interest question...in the old days interest was paid out at 5 percent per day...with the Federal Reserve raising interest rates on loans (and banks raising interest on savings, CDs, etc), why is hub interest 2 percent a day now??? Could it possibly be raised back to 5 percent....some of us wanna make some dough before football season rolls around.

Football season is a long way off. Do you think you're not going to have enough to get going by then?
You seem to have quite a lot invested (intentional pun) in this, as you've been one of the most vocal about getting the bank back..with quite a lot of whinging about it.
Does it matter? Really?

I'm concerned about the AmSouth/Regions merger. Should I stay with AmSouth, or should I consider a local bank?
aaron

Definitely local, if you will wire your currect checking/savings balance to the Bank of My Hattiesburg, I will certainly take care of it for you. Your hub cash balance should reflect the additional funds within 24 hours.
