    Snakes in Southern Mississippi

Purpose of this Thread is to post pics of Southern Mississippi snakes, and properly name the snake.

If you find a snake and have a camera, please take a picture and post it.
I am always trying to describe a snake and no one has ever seen one like it. However, if we have pics of snakes, then someone can enlighten us what kind of snake it is.

While running on the Rails to Trails this weekend, I passed over a little snake. He had Red diamonds on his back with White borders. Rest of snake looked tan-ish colored. Anyone know it's type?

It sounds like a juvenile rat snake. Without a pic, it's hard to say.

After searching this website, I think it was either a

I killed a huge rattlesnake about a month ago, and another big snake I think was a cottonmouth. The wife has those pics and I'm sure she will post em if I can't find em.

This is a picture of the Copper Head Snake. I have killed a few on my porch at the house. Scary devils.

It wasn't a coral. It was too big for that. I believe it was about 2 ft.

    About 2'' diameter.

Looked sorta like snake below, which is a Red Milk Snake.

I have been in the woods a lot, but I have to admit, I have never seen a coral snake in real life. I have asked my father, and my grandfather if they have ever seen one, and neither have. My grandfather was a logger, so he just about lived in the woods part of his life.

Has anyone else seen a coral snake around H'burg?
