I saw a tv ad for the Forrest County Fair starts Sept 18th. I think the Laurel fair is the better of the two though.

No Doubt. Last year it took us over an hour to get to the entrance! Cars were wrapped around the ramp all down the interstate and the side roads were full as well. Ugh - - that is the ONLY part I dread!

Went to F.C. fair tonite. They had a few more rides this year but they were basically just variations of each other. (couple of zipper types, couple of tilt-a-whirls, boats, trucks & motorcycles for the kids.) Also had a smallish Ferris Wheel and a slide. Looked like some good kiddie rides. Not too many games or food vendors though, of course this was the 1st nite of the run. Can hardly wait for the Laurel fair.

Actually they don't overlap. Which is good because I can only eat so much food off the midway in a week-LOL.
But a note about the FC fair- lots of kiddie stuff and Saturday night (9/20) they are holding the quartets convention and another contemporary Christians concert event sponsored by Rice & Beans Ministries. Worth the price of the ticket to hear all that.

I don't think so. I didn't see any beer tents set up. At the state fair you can only drink beer in the designated beer garden area.

I don't know. Don't they usually go by how tall the child is? $15 bucks is pretty outrageous to me, but I don't like a lot of the rides anyway. More into people watching/walking around.

Anyone else been to the fair? I am trying to figure out if it is worth it. I love fairs, but if this one is sorry, I will wait for the Laurel one.

I've never been to the FC fair. There is just something about it that doesn't grab my attention. I've always loved the fair that comes to Laurel - - and IT is always worth it.
    I too can hardly wait!

I think that my daughter was 3 when I first took her. They have a carousel, a plane ride, a car ride, and bumper cars that are suitable for a 3 year old. They also had a petting zoo Sunday.

I was going to show my goats and rabbits at the Laurel fair! But I will be gone the entire week of the fair to national convention. Hopefully I will get to go next year! I really wanted to go to the rodeo!
