    Patio 44

Anyone eaten there since it opened the other day? On W 4th, next to Brewsky's. Cajun & Creole.

Ron Savell, same owner Brewsky’s & Mugshots...“We have Mugshots, which is kind of family casual, then Brewsky’s is more of a music hall,” Savell said. “Patio 44 is more of a fine-dining experience."

I didn't realize it was open. I'll have to try it out soon.

Is that the place that is supposedly geared more toward us older folks?

I'm surprised to see that patio 44 is upscale dining. It is right across the street from oakwood apartments, literally the absolute worst apartment in the whole city. I noticed that they have planted trees next to the road by brewskys and patio 44, I know it must be to block the sight of oakwood.

The name alone would make me think casual dining.

I'm Looking forward to hearing what some of y'all have to say about it after you try it.

    Yeah; "Patio" implies casual.

If they wanted to imply "fine dining"; maybe they should have stuck with something like "Front Porch".

Much higher expectation from a name like that. I was amazed the first time I went there and noticed how over dressed I was.

I thought the Front Porch was a Buffet, but I haven't dined there so who knows...

We decided to go there tonight. I don't know if I'd say it's "upscale". I'll write a review about it when I get a chance, but overall I thought it was good and definitely different.

We went once on a Sunday, I think. It was awful. Everything about it from the service to the food to the price. We felt ripped off and haven't been back.

What were the prices like? The menu they posted on facebook did not have any prices on it. Imagine that.

    Re: Patio 44

We went tonight..........I was impressed..........we had to go inside since it was raining but there is a big patio area with a fountain..............about twelve tables inside with a bar that goes across the entire side......the bar has three big windows that open out onto the patio area with more seating on that side........inside reminded me of the Mahogany. They had some great things on the menu but we decided on the fried duck strips for an appetizer. The hubs got a shrimp po boy and I ordered a shrimp burger. Food was great especially the bread they brought to the table. The hubs had several glasses of beer and I had a mixed drink and some tea......Our total bill was around $44.......not upscale at all, well, not to me...........the bar has four tvs tuned to sports channels...noisy like a sports bar....waiters wear blue jeans.............we got there early so we didn't have to wait for a table but before we left, there was a line waiting. They are still working out some kinks but it was a good experience...........we will return..........I did hear a hostesses tell someone that the high chairs have not been delivered yet.

I wrote a review about it. I don't remember all the prices except the steaks were $30 and the catfish I ordered was $18. I thought the appetizers were a little on the pricey side, too.

You can do that if you claim to be "fine dining."

It is, I was ahhh... being myself.

Patio = out back and casual; Front Porch = upscale; heck everybody driving by can see you out there.

I used to go there often when I was in the 'burg; good ribs and chicken and I loved that dressing.

I've only been a few times since I moved away; ate there a year or two ago and it was still pretty good.

I'll try Patio one of these days when I'm down that way.
