    Hattiesburg American

Announced this afternoon going to 3 day per week print edition. Never been a good newspaper but was adequate for a small town for many years. Last 5-6 years the HA has been pitiful (both print and online).

No big loss, now if we could WDAM to go to just 3 days a week life would be grand. Now that the HA is doing that, I bet they wont go down on price either. Its not worth what theyre getting now.

    Re: Hattiesburg American

I tried to subscribe to HA sometime last year (must have had a weak moment), and they never delivered one single newspaper but charged me for it. I was so done with them after that. WDAM is shameful, with the exception of the weather guys. We have nowhere to actually get good, thorough, reliable, intelligent news. And, why in the world we get two WDAM's is beyond me--I don't want to watch their crappy news once, let alone twice.

Patrick Bigbie is pretty decent weatherman, but Nick Lilja and Rex Thompson make me insane.

I forgot about Rex because I never watch in the mornings or at noon, but, I agree--he's goofy as hell.

They still want to charge the same amount for the three papers. Cancel my subscription. I'll buy the Sunday paper separate for the crossword & Sudoku puzzles.

I miss this so much, especially on the weekend. I grew up when there were two papers in my town, morning and evening. Lots of good comics too.
