I believe his street name was Mr. Juicy, he was bootnannys' GOOD friend, this is not bootnanny. Mr. Juicy weighed about 280 pounds. Bootnanny has been around for years now. I love his outfits-lol
Doesn't that just make you LOVE LIFE? The older I get the more I enjoy it seems. I just get off on all things interesting and really truly get some happy lasting impressions. In the same vein, and I know this isn't the book review thread (but I don't want any of you to miss this) check out a book entitled "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole. So familiar. Side-effects: Your neighbors will not be able to sleep due to the roaring laughter.

I had never heard of him/her until a few weeks ago. A friend told me about him/her and took me by the house. He/She was outside, but he/she didn't have on a dress. She says a lot of times he's/she's standing outside in an evening gown. I've got to see this!!!
Thanks, XC9.
It all came up on the Laurel forums and I gave 'em a link to the recent Hattiesburg American interview.
Laurel has had a few colorful characters over the years but none so flamboyant as Gregory Woods.

The video was an embarrassing display of human behavior...
...not the cross-dresser who can be likely excused for mental deficiencies but those doing the filming with their vulgarity and demeaning racial taunts. Made me better realize the ugliness of my own past reactions to this same individual.

Just a couple of assholes being assholes.
They probably have a closet full of spandex and carbon fiber water bottle holders...
Bootnanay makes me smile, b/c he's so crazy. But I think he likes making people smile, and he's happy with him. I don't know many people with THAT much self confidence.

Isn't that a lot like laughing at an autistic child? Also, NewWave. "Transphobic"? Oh, for Pete's sake. I feel for people with mental illnesses. I sincerely do. Being cursed with something that you have no hope of ever curing is really, really sad. But I think trying to act like there's nothing wrong with them is comical. I don't condone mocking or abusing any sick people. But there's no reason to go ballistic when someone points out that they are, in fact, not well. And, for the record, wearing dresses and letting another male use your back end as a sausage wallet does not make you "half woman". It makes you gay. Admittedly, I have to agree that seeing a dude that size with a full beard rocking the flowery dress was friggin' hilarious the first time or two I saw it. Kinda like seeing Chicken George backing up traffic with his scooter, or in days past, his bicycle. But after that, it just gets to be sad and/or ridiculous.
I don\'t have to justify my prejudice. I\'m quite comfortable with it. Doesn\'t really matter what I think, though. Handicapped is handicapped. And this dude is, bless his heart, defective.
"There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilization--these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub and exploit--immortal horrors or everlasting splendors." C.S. Lewis
I forget this often, and wish I could think of it whenever I see anyone who makes me uncomfortable. Every person we encounter is an immortal being. I don't particularly mind what people wear if it makes them happy and it covers what it needs to. The rest is trivia.

Being immortal, I don't mind admitting, this went over my head. I thought about the concept of Christians, in their belief, are immortal, i.e. life everlasting. But everyone we encounter is not destined for life everlasting in.......never mind. I think I just caught on. Do you mean Heaven AND Hell are everlasting? Everlasting glory or everlasting hell?
