The truth is out there, whether we want it or not.
David Duchovny has checked into rehab to undergo treatment for sex addiction, the actor's rep, Flo Grace, confirmed to E! News.
"I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction," Duchovny said in a statement first released by his attorney to People. "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."
The X-Files star—who, ironically, won a Golden Globe this year for playing an over-sexed struggling writer on Showtime's Californication—has been married to Téa Leoni since May 1997. They have two children together, daughter Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd Miller, 6.

I can't imagine what that family is going through, but I would imagine they're struggling just like any family who deals with addiction...and they have the added burden of people making jokes about it because it's sex.

Well, you have to admit - if you're going to be addicted to something, it may as well be sex.

Duchovny used to be on some sleazy skinamax tv show. Should have been a warning sign lol
He was the storyteller on Showtime's Red Shoe Diaries back in the eighties. He currently stars in the Showtime show, Californication which can be pretty intense at times.
Good show though.

His current show?
It's not hardcore, it's about as bad as a Showtime show can get I suppose. The thing is, remove the adult content and it's still a really good show.
